Rare Antique English Novelty Toast Rack - Wagon / Caravan - Reg. 1879

About the Item

A wonderful opportunity to acquire a highly desirable silver plated figural toast rack, a perfect letter holder too if you wished to put it to work on your desk-top. The rack is created in the from of a cart or caravan with a removable top section. The base is set on four wheels which yes, do move around with ease and a ring handle each end used for pulling around the breakfast table. This piece is blessed with and English design registration diamond shaped lozenge where we can date it to 12th December 1879. There is also a makers mark present H.P. & Co. for the Birmingham silversmith, JOSEPH HIRONS & HENRY HODSON PLANTE.
