Victorian Silver Plated Tea and Coffee Service Set
About the Item
Classic high-quality silver-plated tea and coffee set. The pieces are embellished with elegant and elaborate engravings that frame the initials "I-E & R". The marks printed on some of the objects belong to the Hukin & Heath company founded in Sheffield in 1871, the production date is between 1871 and 1879 (see page 87 of "Sheffield & Birmingham Victorian Electroplaters Book of Marks" by Andrea De Giovanni). While some of the pieces have a stamp that has not been attributed. All of the pieces are assembled on a grand oval shaped silver tray. This is a magnificent service in excellent condition.
