A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver photograph frame; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This fine antique George V sterling silver photo frame has a rounded shaped form with a domed upper portion. The surface of this antique photograph frame is plain and unembellished. The rim of the frame and oval internal window are ornamented with a plain embossed decorated border. This photograph frame is fitted with an oak wood back and hinged strut, secured with two swivel catches. This impressive example of antique silverware is inset with a removable glass panel. Condition This antique photograph frame is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the rim of the frame are very clear; the maker’s mark shows signs of wear in keeping with age and location, but remains legible. Dimensions: Height 24cm/9.4", width 17.9cm/7", height of internal window 19.2cm/7.6", width of internal window 12.8cm/5". Maker: J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin). Origin: Chester, England.
