Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Sandwich Box with Leather Case
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver sandwich box with leather carrying case, an addition to our diverse Victorian silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver box has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners.
The surface of this plain sandwich box is unembellished, apart from a hinge to the upper and lower portion of the posterior side.
The posterior side is further ornamented with a functional D-shaped ring loop style handle.
This exceptional box retains the original leather carrying case with belt straps, operational belt buckles and stud catch.
Condition
This antique silver sandwich box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The silver box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The original carrying case is in excellent condition in keeping with age. The hallmarks struck to the underside of the body, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the cover and posterior side are all very clear; the maker's mark to the underside has wear but remains legible.
