Art Nouveau Cut Glass Carafe with Silver Mount, Germany, Around 1900
About the Item
Carafe made of clear glass with a conical, faceted body that swings out at the bottom with a separate base, the lower half has a stone cut decoration with stars cut in the middle and a star on the bottom, silver fittings with rocaille decoration and vine tendrils, duckbill spout with a hinged, arched and gadrooned lid with a crown-shaped receptacle and a ball attached as a knob, Rocaille volute handle on the side, interior gilding.
