This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a shaped pedestal to a plain rounded knop and circular spreading foot. The body of this silver goblet is embellished with an applied cartouche pertaining to the London Athletic Club accented with a uncial-style typeface and incorporating the motto 'Vincit Qui Patitur' - Who Endures, Wins, in addition to. Either side of the goblet features a cast and applied wing, each with ornamentation reproducing the details of the plumage. The upper rim of the vessel is encompassed with an applied moulded border. This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver sugar caster has a baluster form onto a circular domed spreading foot. The upper and lower portions of this piece are embellished with embossed and chased bead and scroll decoration accenting concave bordered, fluted decoration all in a spiral design. The sugar caster retains the original hallmarked screw fit cover, embellished with pierced decoration incorporating chased and embossed bead and scroll decoration, the screw fit attachment indicates the fine quality of this piece. The cover is further ornamented with a gadroon decorated border to the rim and is surmounted by a fine and impressive scroll decorated shaped baluster style finial.
