Georg Jensen Sterling Blossom Tea Kettle On Stand
About the Item
The Blossom tea pot was the first piece of holloware designed by Georg Jensen in 1905. The original still sits in the Copenhagen Museum. Jensen then went on to design a whole range of Blossom holloware, including teasets, various trays, and lidded tureens among other things. In addition, he designed the Blossom pattern flatware in 1912, which is one of the most coveted flatware patterns in the world--one handle of one knife takes a well trained silversmith up to a day and a half to make.
Each Blossom, modeled after the Magnolia Blossom, starts off flat and is then hand cut and rolled to form the beautiful and well known "Blossom" of this pattern.
