Large Pr Neoclassical Victorian Sterling Silver Corinthian Column Candlesticks

About the Item

An impressive, large pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver Corinthian column candlesticks; in the Neoclassical style. These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver candlesticks have Corinthian columns to a knop and square swept base. The Corinthian capitals of these Victorian candlesticks retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconces. Each capital is supported by an impressive and large Corinthian column with a circular knop to the lower portion. The bases are embellished with a Urn ornamentation accented with husk swag decorationin addition to a large single leaf design to each corner. The upper and lower portions of each base is further encompassed with embossed bead decorated borders. Both candlesticks have weighted bases and are fitted with baize to the underside. Dimensions: Width of sconce 7.3cm/2.9". Diameter of column 3.2cm/1.3". Width of base 14cm/5.5". Height 34cm/13.4". An accurate weight for silver cannot be provided as these candlesticks have weighted bases. They weigh 2905 grams the pair and have weighted bases with felt underneath to protect your furniture.
