Mexican Modernistic Sterling Silver Tea Coffee Set by Hector Aguilar
About the Item
An early four-pieces sterling silver coffee or tea serve set by Hector Aguilar (1905-1986) circa 1940-1945 per mark "HA, Taxco, 940". The mid-century modernist silverware set consists of a rectangular tray with rounded corners and sculpted edges, a coffee or tea pot, a creamer or milk jug and a waste bowl. The hollow wares feature robust rounded body with stylized handles and beak-like sprout with hammered surface. The handle of the tea pot also has wood accent. All four pieces were marked the same as shown.
The tea pot is 6.5" H x 7.5" W x 5.5" D; The tray is 0.5" H, 15.5" W, 12.75" D; About 72.49 Troy Ounces in total weight

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Fine condition of vintage sterling silver. Scattered marks, fine polish scratches and small dings, accumulation between the joins of wood and silver. One deeper scratch on the tray inconspicuous. Minor tarnish as expected.
