An exceptional, fine and impressive large vintage George VI English sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our silver cruets / condiments collection
This exceptional George VI vintage sterling silver mustard pot has a plain compressed cauldron shaped form.
The surface of this piece is plain and unembellished.
The raised flared rim is ornamented with a chased decorated gadroon style border.
This fine mustard pot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with a sterling silver urn style finial.
This exceptional example of vintage silverware has a fine and impressive opposing scroll sterling silver handle with a chased leaf decorated thumbpiece.
This large mustard pot is supported by three fine and impressive subtly lobed feet ornamented with chased shell decorated sockets.
The mustard pot is fitted with a removable blue glass liner.
This vintage silver mustard pot is supplied with an associated fully hallmarked English sterling silver mustard spoon.
Condition
This vintage silver mustard pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. This impressive example of vintage silverware has been professionally polished. The chased decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and the reverse of the spoon, and part hallmarks to the cover are very clear; the maker's mark to the underside has wear but remains legible.
