History:
Australian artist and metalworker Stuart Leslie Devlin is most known for his work with gold and silver.
He gained fame in London by producing limited-edition collectors' goods like Easter eggs and Christmas boxes, as well as coins and medals for governments all over the globe.
The turning point in Devlin's career came when he won a competition in 1964 to create Australia's first decimal currency.
In 1982, he was given the Royal Warrant of Appointment as Goldsmith and Jeweller to Her Majesty the Queen for his work in designing furniture, interiors, and jewellery.
Devlin also helped provide openings for burgeoning gold and jewellery designers.
At the age of 86, the artist passed away in 2018.
