Head of Mercure first titre for 950/1000 French sterling silver guarantee. Fabulous French sterling silver salt cellars four-pieces. No monograms. This set is presented with its four original sterling silver spoons and in original box. Prestigious silversmith: Tetard Freres. 4 rue Beranger in Paris. was active February 8, 1903. Specialized in fashionable holloware, rather than flatware, was an important business-man who received a First class medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1867. Gold Medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889. They saw greatest successes in the 1920s and 1930s. Today, parts of the silversmith Tetard are manufactured by the prestigious Maison Odiot. Measures: 2.8 in (7.2 cm) spoons. 3 in x 2 in (7.7 cm x 5 cm) salt cellars. Weight: 258 grams. Total weight with original box: 816 grams. The condition is very good for this set. Micro-scratches from normal use. One micro chip on the edge of one of the liners, very discreet, the other liners are intact, no break or repair. A master silversmith made a complete cleaning and polishing. The original box shows some signs of its age.
