Unusual Edwardian Sterling Silver Shoe-Form Pincushion
About the Item
Unusual, large, sterling silver shoe-form pincushion, having a wooden sole, Chester, England, year-hallmarked for 1912, S. Blankinsee and Sons - makers. Pin cushion itself is made from brown velvet, which has some minor scuffing (see photos) commensurate with age and use. The sterling silver has some very minor dints (see photos) that are also commensurate with age and use. Shoe measures 5 1/8 inches long x 1 3/4 inches deep (at deepest point) x 2 1/4 inches high (at highest point which is the top of the velvet cushion). Very realistically designed. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
