An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage American sterling silver old Brocade pattern flatware service for six persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional vintage American sterling silver flatware set for six persons have been crafted in the old Brocade pattern. The anterior surface of each handle is embellished with engraved overlapping floral motifs accented with an elongated plain stepped design to either side. The posterior surface of each handle is plain and unembellished, apart from the original knives which feature further engraved decoration This six place sterling silver flatware set consists of 57 pieces: Basic service: Six table knives Six table forks Six table spoons Six dessert knives Six dessert forks Six dessert spoons Six ice-cream/sundae spoons Additional pieces: Pair of serving spoons Pair of sugar tongs Large sauce ladle Sauce ladle Sifter spoon Fish/pudding slice Dessert/pudding serving fork Cake server Fruit serving spoon Ice-cream serving spoon Pickle fork Oyster fork Carving knife Carving fork The pieces of this impressive flatware service, including the original knives, were crafted by the American silversmiths Towle Silversmiths. The steel blade to each knife bears the mark 'Stainless'. These impressive examples of vintage silverware are supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing. This Towle Silversmiths flatware pattern was designed by Harold E Nock, patented in 1932 and produced between 1932-1996. Condition Each piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp. The American hallmarks struck to the reverse surface of each handle are all very clear.
