1930s Silver Plated Knife Rests by the French Illustrator Benjamin Rabier

About the Item

1930s Art Deco set of Twelve zoomorphic knife holders in silver plated metal. Created by French cartoonist and illustrator Benjamin Rabier (1854-1939). Well known for the famous French cheese advertising "The Laughing Cow" ( La Vache Qui Rit ). Each bears a French goldsmith's hallmark of Pierre Devouge ( active from 1922). Unfortunately, the box shown in the photos is not the original, but it will be included in the shipment.
