19th Century French Carved Oak and Tile Musical Hot Dish Tray

About the Item

This interesting, antique hot dish tray was crafted in France, circa 1870. The piece features a hand painted centre tile with a windmill and sailboats in a brown and white palette. The ceramic tile is set inside a carved wood frame. The tray features a mechanism inside that allows you to play two songs including the French national hymn "La Marseillaise"! The winding key is on the bottom. Measures: 11" W x 11" D.
