Tea caddy is oval shaped, has two compartments, body decorated with floral garlands. Dimensions - Length : 15 cm Width : 11.5 cm Height : 16.5 cm Weight: 732 grams ( in total ) Hancock history begins in the heart of Victorian London with Mr Charles Frederick Hancock establishing his eponymous firm on the corner of Bond Street and Bruton Street in 1849. Dealing in the finest jewellery, silver and gemstones Hancocks quickly builds a reputation for excellence. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver tea caddy has an octagonal panelled form. The surface of this fine silver tea caddy box is plain and unembellished. This antique sterling silver tea caddy retains the original hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with the original cast sterling silver scroll decorated loop handle/finial. The anterior edge of the cover features a plain rounded thumbpiece. This exceptional example of Victorian silverware retains the original gilded interior.
