Caviar Server of Silver and Crystal Glass by Baccarat
About the Item
Featuring a large cylindrical bowl of crystal glass for ice, with a silver overlay garland design around the circumference. A fitted holder for the caviar serving container, with chased silver lid and finial.
Baccarat received its first royal commission in 1823. This began a lengthy line of commissions for royalty and heads of state throughout the world.
In 1855 Baccarat won its first gold medal at the World's Fair in Paris.
The crystal production expanded its scope throughout the 19th c. and Baccarat built a worldwide reputation for making quality stemware, chandeliers, barware, and perfume bottles.
