An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver pepperette modelled in the form of a chauffeur; an addition to our range of silver novelty items This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian sterling silver pepperette has been realistically modelled in the form of a male figure portrayed as a chauffeur. This impressive novelty pepperette is embellished with engraved decoration reproducing the details of the gentleman's overcoat, in addition to applied curvilinear arms. This Chester silver pepper retains the original hallmarked push fit cover/head which features pierced 'pepper' holes to the plateau of the hat. The impressive cover is further embellished with applied details replicating the figure's motor vehicle driving goggles. This impressive antique model stands to a plain circular weighted base and retains the original leatherette cover to the underside. The base bears the registration number 'REGD No 490421', in addition to the full hallmarks. The surface of this sterling silver serving tray is embellished with impressive and rare commemorative engraved decoration incorporating two large portraits of King Edward VII and Princess Alexandra. The surface is further embellished with four engraved scenes of the Royal family homes, in addition to a large central Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, above the motto 'Dieu et mon droit ' - God and my right; this is the motto of the Monarch of the United Kingdom.
