Inspired by the ornamental characteristics of Art Nouveau — its undulating asymmetrical lines delineate Elizabeth Hayt’s signature fantasy flowers entangled with vines, water lilies, butterflies in rich color tones and an army of bees who frame this botanically themed placemat. A surreal jungle is blooming with this elegant yet extravagant tablescape.
Manufactured in Italy, these placemats reflect a harmonious blend of New York City design ingenuity and Italian craftsmanship. The result is a truly unique and exceptional table accent that seamlessly merges art and functionality.
Made of printed acrylic with lacquer gilded edges. Green velvet backing made of 49% Cotton, 39% Acrylic, 13% Viscose. Wipe Clean.

Elizabeth Hayt
Elizabeth Hayt is an artist and designer renowned for her handmade textile flowers. After a career as an art critic, writing for ArtNews and lecturing at MoMa, followed by reporting on culture and beauty for the NYT, Vogue and others, Elizabeth Hayt turned her discerning eye toward making unique home decor collectibles inspired by the animal and plant world. She has taken her deep knowledge of couture fashion and borrowed from its emphasis on luxury and imaginative uses of material - weaving together elaborate compositions and material finery, from metallic brocade to glittery tulle to Swarovski crystals to vintage millinery plumes. Her work evokes the spirit of the baroque and archly feminine ornamentation. These elegant and yet extravagant faux flora inspired her recent new tabletop collections which are available exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman, her webstore, and here on 1st Dibs . Her designs have been featured in Elle Decor, NYC Cottages and Garden, Hamptons Magazine and others.
