Aldo Cibic
The architect Aldo Cibic gradually established himself as a designer over the course of many years and through a wide variety of professional experiences acquired through his involvement in highly original projects. A founding member of the Memphis Design Movement, he established the Cibic Workshop with a view to developing projects in which there would be a clear focus on design, the creation of domestic interiors and architectural works both in Italy and abroad. Since that time, Cibic has continued to extend the boundaries of traditional design, and within this field has concentrated on stimulating and broadening the scope of possible relationships between people, objects and places. A Sense of joy and vitality are always present and identifiable at the core of his research projects and may be considered also as a result of his use of colour and particular materials. Besides his own creative work, on the basis of which he was recognised as a pioneer when he produced the Standard Collection in 1991, the elements he includes in his interior design solutions, such as pieces of furniture, lamps and other objects required within the domestic environment, may be found in the collections of Venini, Paola C., Artemide, Foscarini, Cappellini, Riva 1920 and other specialists.
