Russian Cutlery in a French Case, late 19th to early 20th Century

228-piece Russian dinner set for 24 persons in a blackened French cutlery box by Morel & Cie orfèves Bijouteries Rue N°9 St. Augustin à Paris for the Barons von Rothschild, Frankfurt, with the motto "Concordia Inegritas Industria". Note: Of the total of 228 silver pieces, at least 50 pieces were made by different silversmiths for the Vladimirov company. This company was based in St. Petersburg, Nevsky pr. 31, and supplied, among others, Grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna (1838-1900), great-granddaughter of Tsar Paul I and married to the third son of Tsar Nicholas I, Nikolai (1831-1891). The company can be traced from the end of the 19th century until the end of the Tsarist Empire.
