Gilt Chinoiserie Pink Famille Rose Oval Ceramic Tureen with Lid and Underplate

About the Item

A large oval chinoiserie ceramic tureen with lid and underplate. This ceramic dish is hand-painted and decorated with a grade scene. On each side, a brightly colored bird perches upon a bouquet of pink, yellow, green, and blue flowers. Each side of the dish is fitted with a gold handle. The lid fits snuggly on top of the piece and is decorated with a variety of brightly hand-painted flowers on a gilded background of gold. the lid has a mushroom-shaped handle on its top. The underplate is the original of the piece. It is oval and decorated on both the inside of the dish, as well as the outside on the rims.
