20th Century German Silver Plated Hammered Effect Wine Cooler, c.1950
About the Item
A lovely wine cooler in silver plate, made in the middle part of the 20th century in central Europe, probably Germany. The wonderful hammered effect finish, sometimes referred to as martele’ (French word for hammered), gives this special item a modern feel whilst retaining the vintage touch, so characteristic of designs of the period. As relevant today as it was then, it makes a fantastic conversation piece and wonderful as part of a collection of barware in the modern home.
