1930’s Tol Boul, French bar game, trade simulator
About the Item
Old Tôlerie de Boulogne or also known as "the Tol boul", bar game/trade simulator around 1930's operated on 1 franc coins. All metal.
A game that was used in bars, among others.
The large ball had to be turned to mix the colored small balls within.
When a franc is inserted into the slot and the lever is activated, a colored ball will appear in the oval slot at the bottom of the device. The "window" is made of plastic.
Each color corresponded to a winning prize offered by the café owner. For example, no prize, a glass of beer, cash prizes or anything else. After paying out the prize, the owner pulls the lever and the ball and coin fall into the safe that can be opened with a key. You can remove the Boule and refill it with balls.
The game comes with many white balls and of course also colored balls. The latter are less common, so the chance is smaller, so the prize is bigger!
Also some 1 franc coins (5 pieces) are included.
