Delightful ceramic statue depicting sweet little girl in traditional Sardinian dress.
The work is model No. 254 and was designed by Sandro Vacchetti for Essevi.
This one in particular has the date October 9, 1938 as well as the manufacture's stamp.
Rare and valuable, these Epigoni Lenci figurines have become highly coveted by collectors over the years.
Sandro Vacchetti Cuneo-born moved to Turin at an early age, gifted with great artistic gifts he undertook evening studies at the Accademia Albertina. Called by Emilio Scavini to collaborate, along with other big names in Piedmontese painting, on the decoration of Lenci dolls and ceramics for which he became artistic director in 1922.
The statuette is in good state of preservation, showing some small signs of time and some marked previous restoration visible above all in the pink part of the skirt.
