Rare and Early 19th Century Spatter Ware Wash Bowl and Pitcher
About the Item
This very rare hand-painted and decorated 19th century spatter ware wash bowl and pitcher were found in Pennsylvania. This form is most difficult to find and is quite a nice addition to any spatter or sponge ware collection. The bowl is in very good condition with minor tiny chip on bottom of base. The pitcher has a slight seam crack or spider but does not detract from pitcher design. You have to look close to see it. The hand-painted roses can be seen on both sides of the pitcher and in three sides of the inside basin. There is a decorated blue spatter pattern on the outside of the bowl as well as the inside of the decorated pitcher. Fantastic find! It was made circa 1840-1850. This is a original set. The pitcher is 12 high x 8 deep from handle to spout. The wash bowl is 14 wide X 4 1/2 high.
