This hand-carved mask originates from the island of Bali and depicts Rangda, the Demon Queen of Balinese Hindu Mythology. This mask would've been used in ceremonies and/or dance performances. It features a mix of burgundy, gold and white polychrome with elaborate teeth and eyes.
