A rare antique Classic Period (pre-reservation era) Native American carved wood horse effigy spoon, Mesquakie (Great Lakes region). Carved from a single piece of hardwood, the handle depicts a horse head with eyes made from very small pieces of inlaid trade brass. Of American Indian origin most likely Mesquakie (Northeast/Woodlands/Great Lakes region.) Excellent patina. Spoon measures approximately 9 ½ x 5 ¼ inches. Custom display Stand is included, overall measurements as displayed on Stand are 11" H x 5 ¼" W x 3" De. Authenticity is fully guaranteed.
