"Abstract Design" by Arlette Martin (French, b.1924) signed and dated lower right hand-side, painting mounted on card, unframed painting: 2.75 x 6 inches card: 6.5 x 12 inches Stunning original painting by the popular French abstract painter, Arlette Martin (b.1924). The painting has excellent provenance, having come from the artists studio sale in France. Amazing rich colours and abstract forms - so utterly typical of the 1970's era. Wonderful design decoration addition to a vintage interior. Arlette Martin (born 1924), is a complete artist who has worked to understand many artistic fields such as painting, inlay and furniture while being an active member of the Maison des Artistes and a major figure for her generation. Indeed, she stands out by being the first woman president of the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs at the Grand Palais in 1986 and 1987. In addition, since 1972 she has successively held several positions with the House of Artists as a member of the Commission of Professionalism and of the Board of Directors, Secretary General of the Office and Treasurer. Condition report: The painting is in very good and pleasing condition, the mount has some age related discolouration, to the very outer edges.
