19th Century Trapunto and Early Candlewick Fringed Sham Mounted in Plexy

About the Item

Rare and fantastic museum quality 19th century trapunto & candlewick sham with a quilted ground. This wonderful piece of handwork would fit above a queen-size bed or above a sofa. It is very large oversize probably made for a large poster bed cut-out poster bed from New England. The quality is fantastic and condition is mint and it is sew on linen frame. It has been preserved in a plexy box frame also. These quilted and trapunto shams are very rare and almost absolute. This is the very best I have ever seen. The condition is mint.
