Fine large Antique Aboriginal Wunda shield in hard wood carved on both sides with a highly artistic Zigzag Geometric fluted design colored with red and and white pigment & paint.
These shields would have been used during a culturally significant occasions such as in corroborees, an Australian Aboriginal dance ceremony which may take the form of a sacred ritual or an informal gathering. These shields were often used in dances at ceremonies or traded as valuable cultural objects.
As well as a collectible historical Tribal artefact this Shield makes a great object for a Interior design element.
