Antique African bronze bracelet currency bangle Tribal art. High quality bronze currency bracelet from west Africa. Traditionally used in monetary functions and exchange as well as body ornamentation. Dimensions: length 5.5 in, depth 2 in, height 5.5 in. Origin: Burkina Faso Era: 1950s. This bronze bangle was made of lost wax casting. These kind of objects were used as a symbol of status, power, authority, formerly used as a means of payment . Their value lay in the metal itself and in the amount or ornamentation. Very rare collector one of a kind artifact with a figure design and details, beautiful green, brownish patina.
