Carved Wood Miniature Baule Mask of Bush cow Stand Ivory Coast Africa

About the Item

Old carved miniature mask by the Baule of Ivory Coast, West Africa, representing a bushcow with horns (tip of one missing), dark encrusted patina from extensive native use, circular opening on bottom, possibly for attachment to a staff, early 20th century. Mask 9 x 3 3/4 x 3 inches. Total height on stand 9 1/4 inches. Strong form, with evocative encrusted patina. color of the mask is more accurate in the still images.
