1950s Murano Venetian Amber Glass Chandelier
About the Item
Presented is a beautiful large scale Murano chandelier in the Venetian taste. It embodies the core of classic Murano hand blowing and molding techniques. The amber glass is clear and rich in color without any gold flecks usually associated with Venetian style chandeliers. Traditional acanthus leaf and daffodil sprays set the stage for overscale bobesche that set the presence of the chandelier.
The lower lever daffodils measure 16" tall and the floret topped acanthus leaves measure 19" tall. These impressive lengths tower over the rope shaped electrified arms.
It was not made for the American market but rather the continental market, made evident by original European sockets. The chandelier has been rewired according to UL standards with medium base candle sockets and faux beeswax candle sleeves.
Chandelier weighs approximately 125 lbs. and will require professional assembly.
