19th century French gilded ormolu 8-arm chandelier

About the Item

19th century french gilded ormolu 8-arm chandelier circa 1880. Made in France using a technique called mercury gilding. 8 arms which hold 2 candles on each. Decorated with acanthus leaves and lions heads. We have to stress this is of the finest quality, and a very heavy item. Previously wired for electricity, which could be restored if desired. Very minor fading and slight movement to metalwork.
