19th Century French Rock Crystal Chandelier, gilded Cage, surface wired
About the Item
A beautiful and well balanced French mid-19th century rock crystal and white gold over iron chandelier, a rock crystal center spire, drops and ropes. The chandelier is centered by a fabulous rock crystal ball. It holds over 70 handcut superb quality pear shaped and trapezoid rock crystals as well as rock crystal rosettes and petit round chain swags. Each bobeche is hung with very petit oval medallions. Only one of the trapezoid plaque crystals suffers a chip.
The elegant crown repeats the pear shaped drops and rosettes. All original
white gold gilt finish.
