19th Century Orsay Chandelier with 12 lights in Silver Bronze and Crystal
About the Item
This chandelier is inspired by models made by Charles André Boulle at the beginning of the 18th century, like the chandelier dating from 1700 kept in the Mathieu Museum or the one from 1710 in the castle of Champs sur Marne.
A central shaft, decorated in its center with bronze rosette-shaped pendants and crystal drops, supports twelve curved, finely chiseled arms of light.
The latter, covered with plant ornaments and arabesques, are also decorated with pendants.
The plant theme is continued on the shaft, which ends in a bunch of grapes, and on the ornamental tier, on which ears of wheat fall towards the outside of the chandelier.
We have one chandelier in stock however we can produce them made to measure and in other finishes such as 18k gold, 24k gold, silver, black nickel (or any bespoke finish).
Our Company may also customize sizes or make any modifications on original design.

Since 1994, the founders of Ombres et Facettes have been following their passion for the decorative arts. Ombres et Facettes is located in a small village in the Loire Valley, between Blois and Orléans, near Chambord Castle, and can also be found at Saint-Ouen flea market in our 2 galleries 99 & 154 rue des Rosiers, a Mecca of Parisian antique shops and luxury à la française. Our passion and technical expertise allows us to restore and reproduce old light fittings, with the aim of preserving and enhancing the beauty of these collector's pieces. Safeguarding our artistic heritage is one of the missions established by the company founders, driven by their belief in quality craftsmanship. We are dedicated to exceptional quality, focusing primarily on bespoke pieces. Working in close collaboration with architects and decorators, we adapt our creations to their intended location to best meet your expectations and elevate the space. The company's activities can be divided into three key areas: the creation, reproduction and restoration of chandeliers and light fittings. Our creations are inspired by the bronzeworking traditions and crystal chandelier makers of the early 18th century and 19th century.
We are able to adapt these classic models to suit modern tastes, basing our designs on archival materials and taking inspiration from photographs of old models. We also create contemporary models, combining craftsmanship and luxurious materials with modern lines and designs.

On a central openwork bowl surmounted by a metal dagger, twelve arms of light are spread out. Each of these supports a cup in the centre of which a flower bud wick is in full bloom. Four arms extending from the central dagger connect the central cup to a small tray decorated with rosettes and pendants. These same pendants are repeated under the bowl and on the light arms. This composition creates two superimposed parts, the first in bronze, very light because of the spacing of the arms, and the second in rock crystal, more dense, like a forest. We have this one in stock however we can reproduce it in an other finish or in an other size.
