Acona Biconbi pendant by Bruno Munari, 1970s

About the Item

Sculptural ceiling lamp with the Acona Biconbi structure. Designed by Bruno Munari at the end of the 1950s. It was originally born as a sculpture and is the result of Munari’s explorations on the theme of multiplicity. First presented as a game in 1961. The goal of the game was to fold the right shape out of paper. A limited number of metal sculptures were later produced by Italian manufacturer Danese in circa 1965. They also produced Acona Biconbi lamps in 2007, but our lamp was made in the 1970s. We are unsure who produced this lamp; various versions have been produced with different materials and quality. Our lamp is made of high quality and features a steel structure with a white laquered globe inside. The overall condition is very good; there is some minor paint loss.
