Antique 1910s French Empire Style Bronze Eight Light Chandelier
About the Item
An antique, circa 1900 - 1920, French Empire style eight arm bronze chandelier with ram’s head details. This eight light chandelier has scroll and acanthus leaf details at each fluted and curved arm. The bobeches have a faceted underside and a running pearl ornament around the rim. The underside of the chandelier features a central stylized guilloche design and a drop down ornament. The surface of the chandelier varies between a deep bronze patina and a colored patina of a very deep green. The included candle covers have a waxy like surface and emulate a dripping candle. The chandelier measures approximately 23” high, not including the chain. It is approximately 29” in diameter. Each light is currently in working order, however was not examined by an electrician. The wiring looks to be newer as it was previously installed in an Atlanta area home.
