Antique Vintage Edwardian Acorn Church Opaline Milk Glass Ceiling Pendant Light
About the Item
- A wonderful Edwardian acorn opaline ceiling pendant, England circa 1910.
- Heavy quality glass shade with intricate detail and pattern throughout, the often absent and extremely rare original finial to the underneath.
- The most beautiful aged brass gallery to the top and with original linked chain in plenty of length.
- Wear commensurate with age, in very good condition.
- Rewired with brown braided flex and PAT tested.
Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance.
