About the Item
Stunning and sizeable French light fixture.
Some antiques are just that extra bit more impressive and when we found this French pendant from the Arts & Crafts era, we immediately felt that this is one of those antiques. A highly skilled blacksmith in the early 1900s was probably commissioned to create the perfect, wine theme pendant for a tavern or maybe for a private wine collector/connoisseur. The realistic wine branches with their beautiful and detailed leafs and grape bunches are truly magnificent. This perfectly balanced pendant is the work of a true artisan and it is this kind of quality that you just don't find anymore. By the way, in real life the wrought iron in this pendant is more black than some of the photos make it look. This great quality and excellent condition pendant can create the perfect atmosphere in a home, but also in a restaurant, wine bar or wine cellar. The original, acid etched and thick glass shade is in excellent condition too. The shade comes with a signature, but unfortunately we cannot 'decipher' the last part of his or her name. It reads Peyn(…) and then three more letters (see image 7). This sizeable pendant can be 'dismounted' into 6 pieces (including the glass shade), which makes it both safe to ship and easy to mount on your ceiling. Mind you, it is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well.
