About the Item

Arx is a modernist inspired, modestly scaled chandelier-pendant. As with all From the Sky pieces, the LED strip used is 92+ CRI (Colour Rendering Index), meaning it emits a rich and calming light. In the case of Arx, this light is a slightly dimmed 3000K - a warm light that gives the feel of dispersed candle light. Even though the LED strip is visible, it is not overly bright or dazzling. The two sections of Arx interact both horizontally and vertically - the two halves remotely embracing in a frozen sculptural dance. Arx is suspended by near invisible but very strong 0.4mm dyneema thread, making it all but over in the space, and the LED strips are only 4mm wide, with no white borders, so even when switched off, Arx maintains it's clean, sculptural aesthetic. The transformer that powers Arx is housed in a bespoke, 3D printed case that also functions as an adjustable suspension system, meaning no additional transformers or cabling needs to be installed for it to work when connected to a standard electrical installation.
