About the Item

This unique ceiling lamp is the result of an era when old and new influences interacted actively, combining traditional methods and looks with the 20th century’s design movements’ peculiar aesthetic. As this lamp shows, the one-of-a-kind, often one-off pieces had a strong character executed with high level craftsmanship. The design of this model is defined by the pairing and interaction of its materials: brass and amber glass. It has the functional and stylish characteristic of mid-century modern models, employing the blown, patterned amber glass to distinguish it from its contemporaries. Many modern lamps, especially from the 1960s, were created in response to the constant changes made to the shape and size of incandescent bulbs by manufacturers.
