A French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu chandelier
About the Item
An elegant and large scaled French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu chandelier. The eighteen light chandelier is centered by a richly chased bottom acorn finial leading up to the electrified arms split in two flanking 'C' scrolled arms ending with acanthus leaves and leading to a spiral fluted design and foliate saucer all under the spiral fluted candle cups. Each arm is fixed to the center by handsome finials in different shapes and leads up to the foliate spray below the spiral fluted fut. The top of the chandelier is in the form of a large fluted quiver with a reeded rim, oblong oval hoops, and fletchings protruding out of the top.
