French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu and Silvered Bronze Chandelier
About the Item
An elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and silvered bronze eight arm chandelier. The chandelier is centered by a finely chased bottom acorn finial joined by four 'S' scrolled arms. Below the arms are wonderful and detailed masculine faces under a circular bead like design and a berried laurel branches. At the top of the arms are two additional 'C' scrolled arms which lead to circular saucers below the fluted candlecups. The arms are joined by central mottled bands with berried laurel branches. Each band hangs on elegant silvered bronze bars with central ormolu rings. The bars lead to the top central ormolu crown with a unique and elegant design.
