About the Item
Elegant pendant lamp model T883 by Hans-Agne Jakobsson. Crafted from brass, it features three lamp holders and a textile-covered shade, complete with the original bullet-shaped canopy. The lamp shade has been replaced. Swedish industrial designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson, born on the island of Gotland in 1919, began his career as a carpenter's apprentice in his teenage years. Following his pursuit of architecture studies, he joined General Motors as a designer. In 1951, he established Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in the quaint community of Markaryd. The factory is most renowned today for its mid-century lighting fixtures, though it also produced small furniture and various other interior design objects. The two ashtrays available for sale serve as remarkable examples of Jakobsson's talent in merging craftsmanship and industrial production to craft minimalistic and timeless objects.
