Important rock crystal and gilt bronze chandelier, Russia about 1820

About the Item

Very sophisticated, elegant neoclassical eight-armed rock crystal chandelier with a cobalt glass baluster. Between its arms are eight rock crystal hangings in form of trees. Northeastern European chandeliers have a characteristic lightness between construction and decoration with baguette crystals. All in gilded bronze with the finesse of cobalt-colored glass. Russia around 1820.
