About the Item

Stunning, colorful and cool Italian "Cocoon" Chandelier. This Chandelier was designed and manufactured during the 1970s in Italy by Cocoon crèation. The manufacturer name "Cocoon crèation" is stamped at the botton of the Chandelier. The original Height is 80 cm (31.50 in.), if you required to extend the height we can do it to your desired Lenght. "Goldkant Leuchten" company was founded right after World War II in 1946. The first name of the company was Cocoon-Leuchten International. Fritz “Friedel” Wauer who is credited by FLOS for devising the technology of spraying the material onto iron frames, was inspired by the “self-wrapping” of a silk worm, hence the naming “cocoon”. In the late 50’s Arturo Eisenkeil from Merano, today in Marling, brought the technique to Italy and together with Dino Gavina, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Sergio Biliotti, Carlo and Tobia Scarpa, Ignazio Gardella, to name the most important designers, the FLOS company was born. This Chandelier is equipped with 1 light socket (E27). A professional electrician has checked and prepared the piece to operate in US, UK and EU.
