A RARE RUN OF MEDIUM HOLOPHANE THREE PART PENDANT LIGHTS PRICE IS PER LIGHT A stunning set of three vintage Holophane pendant lights reclaimed from an abandoned 150 year old chapel originally built in 1876 in the heart of Gwynedd village in Wales, Rhosgadfan Chapel was listed for sale when we spotted the lights still hanging in the images of the stripped out interior. Made in England by Holophane in the early 1920's these lights have hung in the church for around 100 years. Holophane's "Reflector - Refractors" were developed following the commission of the company to provide the illumination of St Pauls Cathedral, London in 1923 requiring greater glare and brightness. As seen in our 1937 catalogue snippet the Holophane Reflector - Refractors form a series of imposing totally enclosed prismatic glassware, suitable for general lighting of Public Buildings, School, Offices and Shop interiors. All glass has makers marks and numbers along with Holophane embossed to the brass canopy's, the pendants also include the original brass hanging chain and ceiling fittings. WHY IS VINTAGE HOLOPHANE SO POPULAR IN INTERIOR DESIGN In addition to its practical qualities, vintage Holophane glass is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of vintage and industrial design. The prismatic texture of the glass creates a unique visual effect that is both beautiful and functional, making it a popular choice for use in home decor and lighting fixtures. The vintage Holophane glass is often paired with high-quality metal fixtures, such as brass or cast iron, to create a look that is both elegant and industrial in style. When renovating our original reclaimed lighting all existing electrical parts are removed and renewed with modern electrical components. All components used are CE certified and our lights are wired & tested in line with BSEN Standards. As standard our lights come with 1m of our premium fabric three core cable to a colour of your choice unless stated otherwise in the product description. Generally, ES or BS lamp holders are used unless otherwise stated and are fully compatible with main dimmers and modern LED filament bulbs. Our lights can be wired to bespoke specifications, longer lengths, different cable types and compatibility with specialist dimming systems such as DALI can all be accommodated. Lights supplied to U.S.A and Canada are installed using UL Certified cable and lamp holders. As standard we supply round black fabric cable and E26 holders. Please note that although we use UL certified components our original reclaimed lights do not come with UL certification. Due to the antique nature of our original vintage lights, we cannot offer an official IP rating and cannot guarantee our lights for external use.
